1Why is Trajenta prescribed?

Trajenta tablets contain linagliptin as an active ingredient that can be sold under various trade names. It is prescribed for the treatment of type 2 Diabetes mellitus in which it helps in maintaining the sugar level of blood. It is used as monotherapy as well as in combination with other Anti Diabetic medications. 

2How to use it?

It is highly recommended to take trajenta tablets with or without food. It is beneficial to take the dose each day at the same time. Swallow the drug as whole and don't chew, crush or break the tablet. Take the medication as recommended by your physician.

3What if I miss a dose or overdose?

If a dose is missed due to any reason, it should be taken as soon as you remember. Don't take both the doses at the same day or at a same time to catch any missed dose. 

If a higher dose is taken than prescribed dose then it leads to overdose that always needs an urgent medical response. Many of the symptoms are shown due to overdose. So don't take or stop the dosage of drugs on their own as it shows some harmful effects. 

4Linagliptin Side-effects:

Trajenta tablets produce potentially some severe life threatening effects that includes hypoglycemia, cough, hypersensitivity, pancreatitis, or nah so pharyngitis. Some of the adverse reactions that are shown by trajenta tablets are more or less tolerable. If any severe side effects are shown, Consult to your health care provider as early as you can. 

5Trajenta (Linagliptin) Drug Interactions:

Linagliptin tablets may interact with various drugs and lead to moderate to severe symptoms that may be fatal. It may interact with other Anti Diabetic medications, blood thinners, antibiotics or some other drugs that are not mentioned here. Consult your physician if you realize any interaction or you take any other prescription or non prescription medications. 

6Precautions on taking Trajenta:

  • If any hypersensitivity occurs like rashes, urticaria then discontinue the drug. 
  • It is important to check the progress regularly. 
  • Don't take the other drugs with this medication unless you consult with your physician. 
  • If you have any cardiac or renal impairment, inform your physician. 
  • Always keep some sugar candies with you, that are used in case of hypoglycemia.
