Acnevir Paint

1Why Acnevir is prescribed:-

Acnevir paint is a topical product that has a keratolytic activity due to the presence of salicylic acid (peeling agent). It can be prescribed for the treatment of acne, dandruff, seborrhea, or psoriasis, and to remove corns, calluses, and warts. Acnevir is an adult formula that helps to clear acne pimples and blackheads, reduce redness, and helps to prevent a recurrence. It may act by increasing the amount of moisture in the skin. It is also known as acne or redness relief paint.  

2How to use it?

It is a topical preparation i.e for external use only. It is used after washing your hands properly. Take a small amount of medication on your palm and apply it to the affected area. Don’t cover the affected area unless your physician-directed to do so. It can be exactly used as directed by your physician or health care provider. It is usually once or twice daily and with all precautions that are provided by your physician.

3What if I miss a dose or overdose?

If you forgot to apply the dose then apply it as early as you remember. If it is almost the time of your next dose then skip the dose and don’t apply more amount of ointment to get the missed dose. Try to avoid missing any dose as it may lead to failure of treatment.

Overdose of acnevir paint may cause some severe side effects.  If you apply more amount of ointment it may show some symptoms of skin disorder and seeks emergency medical attention. You may also call any poison control center i.e nearer to your home.

4Side-effects:

Some common side effects that are shown by acnevir paint are severe burning, dryness, or irritation of the skin, minor skin irritation, rash, or peeling,  changes in the color of treated skin (usually whitening). These are not all the side effects, consult with your physician for any other side effects. If you notice any side effects, talk to your physician, or any health care provider.

5Drug Interactions:

Drug interaction may occur due to any circumstances. Drug interaction may change the activity of the drug and enhances the side effect of adverse effects. Describe all the medication to your physician that you used so that they advise you properly. Talk to your pharmacist while you using any other product with this medicament. Whenever a drug or medicament is used with some other medications or with any food article it may cause some interaction due to which the condition of patients becomes too worsen. Sometimes interaction may occur due to the presence of any diseased condition.

6Precautions

• If you are allergic to any drug, inform your physician before starting the treatment.
• Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, or any internal area of the body.
• Don’t apply more or less amount of medicament as prescribed.
• If there is no improvement after proper use of medicament, inform your physician and you may take an opinion from him.
• It is important to follow all the guidelines that are provided by your health care provider.
