Tazorac Ointment
1Why Tazorac is prescribed:- Tazorac (Tazarotene) ointment is a prescription medication that can be used to treat acne vulgaris in adults or children at the age of 12 or more. It is a retinoid product that is prescribed to treat plaque psoriasis in which the skin becomes red, swollen or some scaly patches may occur in some area of the body.  It can also be prescribed in the cause of premature aging of the skin caused by overexposure to the sun (photodamage). It is available in various dosage forms such as cream, gel, foam. It is also helpful in reducing skin wrinkling and liver spots. Â
2How to use
It is usually used with all precautions that are given by your health care provider. it is a topical preparation so use it enough to cover the area. Wash your hands properly before and after using the medicament. Apply a small amount of medicament or as advised by your health care provider and rub gently. 3What if I miss a dose or overdose
Try to avoid missing any dose as it may lead to failure of treatment. If you forget to take a dose, then don’t be panic, skip that dose and go back to your regular schedule. Don’t apply more amounts of medicament to catch up with the missed dose. If you skip the dose on a regular basis then you should consult with your physician regarding it or you may need to set an alarm to remember the dose regularly
Overdose of Tazorac may lead to some mild to moderate-severe adverse reactions. Don’t apply more dose than the prescribed dose as it may show some severe skin reaction or enhance the risk of some side effects. In case of overdose, you should call your physician or any poison control center. Talk to your physician while you apply more amount of medicament to avoid some adverse reactions. You may also consult with any experienced dermatologists.
4Side-effects:
There are some side effects that may be shown by Tazorac ointment that include some application site reactions such as itching, redness, irritation, burning, stinging, scaling, peeling, and dry skin. These are not all the side effects some other symptoms may also occur. You should talk with your physician for any occurrence of side effects or you have to be in contact with your health care provider for any circumstances.
5Drug Interactions:
Interactions are the result of some noncompliance of patients towards their treatment. Some patients are not serious about their treatment and don’t follow the guidelines that are provided by their physician. So, the condition of patients become worsen due to the occurrence of some interactions. Interactions may also occur by using the products with some other medications. Don’t use it with some other medication without counseling with your health care provider. If you feel any discomfort after starting the treatment, inform your physician so that they help you or may provide you a better treatment.

6Precautions
- Follow all the guidelines advised by your physician.
- If you are allergic to Tazorac or any other drug, tell it to your physician before starting the treatment.
- Don’t apply the medicament with some other medication or any other creams or ointments.
- It is used with caution in patients with renal impairment.
- Don’t share your medicine with other patients having the same symptoms as yours.
