Why Elmiron is prescribed:-

Elmiron, a common brand that contains pentosan polysulfate as an active medicament. Elmiron is prescribed in case of interstitial cystitis i.e inflammation to pass out urine and ortho arthritis. It helps to relieve bladder pain or bladder infection. It also acts as a weak anticoagulant.

How to use:-

It is highly recommended to take Elmiron without food i.e empty stomach. Don't chew or crush the tablet, swallow the whole tablet. It is a prescription drug, so it is better to use the drug under the supervision of your health care profession.

What if I miss a dose or overdose:-

If u forget to take a dose, don't panic about that, you can take it later. If the time exceeded the time of the next dose, then skip the previous dose. Or consult with your doctor.
Overdose of Elmiron, may lead to unusual bleeding, dizziness, depression, anxiety, headache. Consult with your health care professional as early as possible. Or you can also call any poison control centre.

Side-effects:-

Side-effects are the unwanted effect of any drug that may occur due to inactive ingredients. Side-effects of Elmiron may cause hair loss, diarrhoea, nausea, headache, abdominal pain, skin problems, dizziness, indigestion etc. To avoid some side effect you can take the drug under the supervision of a physician.

Avoid driving or any work that needs alertness.
