Proscar, a prescription drug that contains Finasteride as an active ingredient that helps to treat enlarged prostate or hair loss in men's. It is also used in women to prevent excessive hair growth.

How to use:-

It is highly recommended that you can take the drug with food. You may also take it without food after consulting with your pharmacist you have to swallow the drug as a whole not to chew or crush the dosage form. To get more benefits, take the dose each day at the same time, as advised by your physician.

What if I miss a dose or overdose:-

Patient compliance is a major factor to avoid missed doses or overdose. If u forget to take a dose, you can take it later. But assure that the time is not exceeded to the time of the next dose. You can skip the dose if the time is nearer to the next dose. Don't take both doses at the same time to avoid an overdose of the drug.
Overdose of Proscar may cause any severe problems i.e difficulty in breathing, twitching, stomach cramps, irregular heartbeat. In this case, consult your health care professional as early as possible.

Side-effects of Proscar include ejaculation disorder, erectile dysfunction, sexual dysfunction I.e. libido, depression, breast enlargement Etc.

Interactions:-

Patient compliance is a major factor to avoid any type of interaction. Various symptoms are shown due to the various drug interactions, or food-drug interactions. Proscar may interact with various drugs that include alpha and beta-blockers, warfarin, digoxin, antihypertensives etc….

Precautions:-

Finasteride is a drug that absorbs through the skin. So handle it with proper care.
Don't use it in pregnancy, even not handled by a pregnant lady.
Take all the precautions, prescribed by your physician.
If you take any herbal or allopathic medicine, tell your doctor.
